Hiwan G.C. is located in Evergreen, CO nestled between the front range hills and the high peaks of the
Rockies. Designed by Press Maxwell and opened in 1962, this course boasts holding the Colorado Open
between 1964-1991 and includes previous winners such as Al Gieberger and Mark Weibe. The front nine
meanders through a gentle terrain of trees and ponds outlined by residential property, but not overly so and
is relatively flat. The back nine has a great deal more undulation, not a flat fairway to be found but some twist
and turns on just about every hole. What a fun and enjoyable course this is! I was impressed and very
fortunate to get an opportunity to play here as the club is private and membership is required.

I should've expected this, knowing I was playing as a guest at an exclusive private
golf club. The lady driving is the owner and was kind enough to give me a quick
tour of the cart, which is the mock-up of a Lincoln Town car. I was impressed.
