Shining Mountain G.C. is located between the front range hills and the Rockies, just west of Colorado
Springs. Designed by John Harbottle and opened in 1995, this mountain course is strangely similar to
early 20th century course design as the fairways are very tight and most of the greens are elevated. It
is also quite open and thus vulnerable to windy conditions. This is a very tough, shot maker's course,
but you do have some very nice views of Pike's Peak from almost every hole.
